Mr. Sicari has an extensive theatre background in addition to having guest starred and been a regular in over 250 TV shows. He gained NY recognition while appearing in the New York Shakespeare Festival in 1967-68 at the Delacorte Theatre in "Comedy of Errors" and "Henry lV, Parts 1 & 2. He appeared at the Roundabout in NY as Mario opposite Charles Grodin in "Price of Fame", the Second Stage production of "Loose Ends" w/Terry Kinney & Jane Kaczmarek. He also played the Mark Taper Forum in L.A. as Trinculo in "The Tempest" starring Anthony Hopkins as well as "The Dybbuk" as Motle directed by John Hirsch. In the L.A. Shakespeare Festival's production of "Comedy of Errors" his was cited by the L.A. Times as one of the ten best performances of that year in the role of Aegean. There he also played Iago. Mr. Sicari essayed several more Shakespearean roles at the McCarter Shakespeare Festival. and at Pioneer Theatre in Salt Lake City, he played Arnolphe in "School for Wives". At Cleveland Playhouse he starred in the world premiere of William Luce's "Bravo Caruso". Among his musical performances he has played Lucky in the original New York production of "Dames at Sea" w/ Bernadette Peters. Doolittle in "My Fair Lady" at La Mirada Theatre in Los Angeles as well as at Sacramento Music Theatre as Boris in "Can Can" w/ Leslie Uggams, seven productions of "Oklahoma" as Ali Hakim. Among others were "South Pacific" (Billis); "Bells Are Ringing" (Sandor), "Out of This World" (Mercury), as well as appearing in revues in cabaret with Ruth Buzzi, Dom and Carol DeLuise.and Henry Gibson. Among the many roles he played in Regional Theatre were Alfieri "View From the Bridge", Juror #10 "Twelve Angry Men", Kolienkof "You Can't Take it With You", etc.
Among his films are "Who is Harry Kellerman" w/ Dustin Hoffman, "Partners" w/Ryan O'Neal & John Hurt, "The Long Goodbye" w/Elliot Gould, "Stiffs" w/Danny Aiello & Jon Polito among others. He is remembered as Jerry Seinfeld's dry cleaner 'Willy', recurring as 'Marcel" in "One Day at a Time", and guest starred in many sitcoms and dramas from the early "Mod Squad" (his first) right through his current guest starring role in STARZ Channel's "Flesh and Bone" Mr. Sicari played Salvatore Basaleon in Steven Spielberg/Tom Hanks' WWII miniseries "The Pacific".
As Director Mr. Sicari has directed and coached such actors as Pat Harrington, Lawrence Pressman, Ed Asner, Doris Roberts, Gina Hecht, etc. In L.A. Mr. Sicari directed "The Price" w/ Barbara Bain, Pat Harrington, Larry Pressman, ; Arthur Miller's "Creation of the World" with Ed Asner, Pat Harrington, Alan Aychbourne's "Round and Round the Garden", "That Championship Season", etc. etc.
Mr. Sicari has taught for the Beverly Hills Playhouse as well as his own classes in New York City.
